Course Description
An advanced Putonghua course designed to students who have completed CPTH2703, CPTH2001or CPTH3001. For students who have not completed the above course, they are invited to join the Putonghua placement offered by CLC.



The course is targeted at students who have the capability to present ideas in short connected utterances. It will further build up their vocabulary list related to social daily real life settings especially developing their oral skills in delivering speeches at public occasions.



Course contents cover a numbers of social life topics. Through different real life settings, it could increase students’ vocabulary. Common pronunciation mistakes, difference between Putonghua and Cantonese words and phrases will be included which allow students to present their ideas under a variety of circumstances especially completing tasks in learning and working environments. Students will be able to handle any unexpected changes in social contexts and understand Putonghua with relatively strong accents.



E-learning laboratory sessions not only provide target training on pronunciation and listening, but also allow students to complete online exercises, conduct recording and test or examination.
Assessment
Several quizzes, moodle homework, 1 mid term and 1 final exam.
