Course Description
(Currently coded as PSYC2540)

This course is designed to provide an overview of developmental psychology. Both classical and
contemporary theories, research methods, and research findings on physical, cognitive, and
psychosocial development from infancy to old age will be introduced. Special attention will be given
to the role of culture in shaping development across the lifespan and to the application of
developmental science to real-world issues.
Assessment
20% Midterm Exam (30 MCQs, 10 Fill-in-the-blank Questions)
40% Final Exam (50 MCQs, 15 Fill-in-the-blank Questions)
35% Group Project (Conduct interview with children/parents, write a report and present your findings)
- 0% Project Title (Explain the theoretical construct, application, and implication of the project)
- 6% Research Protocol (Explain methodology and hypothesis of the project)
- 4% Project Consultation
- 10% Presentation (15 Minutes presentation + 5 Minute Q&A)
