This is a university general education course investigating the topic of travel from a philosophical perspective, discussing the definition of travel, the multiple purposes of travel, and some philosophical issues related to travel. The ultimate issue to be dealt with in the course is the meaning of travel to modern people.
Assessment
30% Tutorial presentation and discussion - form groups of 2-4 and present on one of the tutorial articles in 30-45 minutes, and students who are not presenting on a particular article will also be assessed based on their participation in the discussion
30% Two short reports - read an excerpt of a book and discuss a philosophical topic related to travel in 800-1000 words (report 1) / 600-800 words (report 2) for each report
40% Take-home exam - answer 2 of the 3 questions in a handwritten form based on the content of the entire course
